Quick Answer: I offer keratin smoothing, which gives frizz-free, glossy hair for about 2 to 6 months, with a 72-hour aftercare routine afterward (no washing, ponytails or clips). I do not offer Brazilian blowouts, and formulas differ by brand, so I will not compare other products. Whichever treatment you choose, ask your stylist which product they use and what the manufacturer states about it.
If you have never had either service, it is easy to assume keratin smoothing and a Brazilian blowout are the same treatment with two different names. Clients ask for one and describe the other more often than you would think. Both are sold as smoothing services, but the product, the finished look and the aftercare depend on who does them and what they use.

Keratin Smoothing vs. Brazilian Blowout: Why I Do Not Compare Formulas
Formulas vary by brand and by the version a salon chooses, and I can only speak for the one I use. I use GK Hair “The Best” for keratin smoothing, which GK states is formaldehyde-free. Brazilian blowout is a service I do not offer, so for any other treatment, ask the stylist which product they use and read what the manufacturer says about it. I walk you through exactly what I use during your consultation.
The look you actually walk out with
With keratin smoothing you can expect frizz-free, glossy hair. How straight your hair ends up depends on your texture, length and starting point, so I talk through realistic results with you at your consultation. If you love your natural wave and want to keep some of it, tell me, and I will tell you honestly whether keratin smoothing is the right fit.
How long it holds, and what the first few days look like
My keratin smoothing treatments typically last about two to six months, depending on your hair and aftercare. For the first 72 hours there is no washing, ponytails or clips while the treatment sets, and I go over a home-care routine with you afterward. Other treatments have their own downtime and lifespan, so ask about both before you book anything.
Is Keratin Smoothing Right for Your Hair Type?
Curl pattern, frizz level and how much daily styling time frustrates you all matter. Tighter curls, very frizzy hair, looser waves, and hair that changes from section to section can each respond differently, which is why I look at your hair before recommending anything. If you cannot come in first, I also offer a virtual consultation by FaceTime or WhatsApp video, though it is less accurate than meeting in person.
Still not sure which fits your hair and your schedule? That is exactly what a consultation is for. I can look at your hair type, how much texture you want to keep and how much downtime you can realistically work with. Want a closer look at what the keratin smoothing process actually involves, or want to check whether it is the right fit for your hair before booking? Both are worth a read first.
